New York.- Artexpo, one of the most comprehensive events of its kind for both art industry professionals and consumers, will feature the works of Evangelos Mikropoulos during its 2006 show, being held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City from March 2 – March 6. Artexpo has been defining popular art for more than a quarter century, and is eagerly anticipated by art dealers, publishers and private collectors. International Artexpo is the highlight of the spring season and draws tens of thousand of qualified buyers and art enthusiasts to view its collections each year.
Evangelos Mikropoulos will delight the anticipated 40,000 attendees with his newest collection that features 8 abstracted oil paintings showing imaginary seas or summer fruits, intersecting colourful axes, or human figures in windy environment.
Along with the paintings Mikropoulos writes poetry. His verses accompany the painted surfaces, stressing that the most precious value is the journey itself: full of colours, shapes, lines, passions, memories.
Mark Blikley – Art Critic notes that “ Greek painter Evangelos Mikropoulos, a colorist of enchanting proportions, captures and reflects rays of light on his canvas much like the Aegean Sea captures and reflects the rich phenomena of overhead skies, mirrored through a watered prism of pristine blue. Mikropoulos, a native of Athens, imbues his paintings with a fluidity that gives rise to a sensuous richness of hue, yet his corresponding dispersal of light and display of color is infused with a strong conceptual streak.”
