New York (ANA/P.Panagiotou) – The present government approaches foreign policy issues with “steadfastness, responsibility and clear-headedness,” Deputy Government Spokesman Evangelos Antonaros told a press conference organised by the Greek Press Office here on Friday.
Antonaros referred to a series of matters that affect and project the “modern image” of Greece after the successful hosting of the Olympic Games in 2004, underlining the general parameters which govern the government’s philosophy on foreign as well as internal issues.
“The role of our country in the broader region is continuously being upgraded,” Antonaros said, adding: “Our objectif is to make Greece functioning as a modern country, capitalising on important events hosted by it.”
He also said that the government was determined to go ahead with the necessary changes and reforms for achieving a stable economy.
Antonaros participated in a conference organised by CNN in Atlanta, on its 25th anniversary.
