Evangelia Peter, 82, of Coventry, passed away on 10/16/13 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence, RI.  She was the wife of the late Paraskevas D. Raptakis.  Evangelia was born on 10/30/30 in Andros, Greece and was the daughter of Leonidas and Frangesca (Valmas).  After marrying Paraskevas in Greece, she came to the United States in 1958.  She worked in the family businesses, the Three Star Restaurant and Venus Pizza alongside her husband and family members.  She is survived by her beloved sons, Dimitrios P. Raptakis, and his wife Karen Raptakis of East Stroudsburg, PA, and State Senator Leonidas P. Raptakis and his wife Dr. Donna Raptakis and her grandchildren, Alexandra and Nicholas Raptakis of Coventry, RI.  She was the sister of the late Maria Kyrtatas.

Her funeral was held on Tuesday 10/22/13 at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Cranston, RI at 10 am.  Her burial was held in Andros, Greece. Donations may be made to the Coventry Teachers Alliance Scholarship Fund, 40 Reservoir Road, Coventry, R.I., 02816.
