Nicosia.- According to an official press release, in the context of the visit Cyprus and Qatar will sign bilateral agreements in the areas of education, energy, desalination and water management as well as legal affairs.
In addition a Qatar – Cyprus business forum will take place during which the two countries’ chambers of commerce and industry will sign a Cooperation Protocol.
The President of the Republic will be accompanied by his wife Andri. The delegation comprises Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides, Minister of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism Yiorgo Lakkotrypis, Minister of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment Nicos Kouyialis, Government Spokesman Christos Stylianides, Under Secretary to the President Constantinos Petrides, the President’s Diplomatic Office Director Nicos Christodoulides and other officials.
On Monday morning, President Anastasiades will meet with representatives of the Qatar Investment Authority.
He will then be received officially by Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to be followed by talks between the two countries’ delegations. After the talks are concluded, Cyprus and Qatar will sign the bilateral agreements.
President Anastasiades will attend an official lunch hosted in his honour by the Qatar Emir.
He will then visit the Museum of Islamic Art where he will sign the visitors’ book. Later on he will have a meeting will representatives of Qatar’s Islamic Bank.
In the afternoon, the Cyprus President and his delegation will attend a reception hosted by the Embassy of the Republic in Doha, Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Cyprus – Qatar Business Association.
On Tuesday, President Anastasiades will address a business forum organised by CCCI in cooperation with the Qatar Chamber, under the auspices of the country’s Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Al Thani.
The President will meet representatives of real estate development company Qatari Diar.
President of the Republic and his delegation depart from Doha to return to Cyprus on Tuesday afternoon.
