The Christmas Season having officially been ushered in with the Thanksgiving Day Parade, featuring Santa Claus and the lighting of the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center, HAPAC, the Hellenic American Political Action Committee, joined in the season’s festivities by holding its first Holiday Party for their Board members and families, at the Columbus Club in Manhattan. The members enjoying the Holiday spirit, heard from Council Eric Goia, State Senator Marty Golden and Councilman James Gennaro.
HAPAC, which reorganized earlier this year, introduced their new brochure which will be going out to the public, introducing HAPAC and its program. Anyone interested in receiving a copy is encouraged to e-mail, HAPACNY@AOL.com and submit their name with an address.
In addition, HYPE, the Hellenic Youth in Professional Endeavors, was the topic of discussion, with many wanting to know more about it. It will be officially launched at St. John’s University in February with the student body and plans include going to all the colleges. Catherine Tsounis Siolas, a professor at St. John’s, was instrumental in orchestrating the first seminar.
