New York (ANA/MPA – P. Panagiotou) – A funeral service for Journalist Maria-Mirella Georgiadou, who died in a hospital in Manhattan on Tuesday at the age of 87, was held at the church of Saint Nicholas in Flushing on Friday in the presence of friends and associates. Georgiadou was the Athens News Agency’s correspondent in New York from 1977 until 2002. She was a person with character who served journalism with humility, seriousness and reliability.
