U.S. Reps. Gus Bilirakis (R-FL) and Ted Deutch (D-FL), Co-Chairs of the Congressional Hellenic Israel Alliance (CHIA), a bipartisan caucus focused on fostering strategic cooperation between Greece, Cyprus, and Israel in the U.S. Congress, issued this statement applauding this week’s Trilateral Summit and Declaration of Continued Cooperation between the three countries:
“As Co-Chairs of the Congressional Hellenic Israel Alliance (CHIA), we are enthused by the deepening bonds and growing strategic partnership between Cyprus, Greece, and Israel, as evidenced by the recent summit between President Nicos Anastasiades of the Republic of Cyprus, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of the State of Israel, and Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras of the Hellenic Republic and their continued cooperation and promotion of peace and prosperity in the region. These natural allies strengthen regional stability by affirming their desire to work closer together in various fields including energy, innovation, security and research and development. As CHIA approaches its third anniversary, we look forward to further collaboration and progress Greece, Cyprus and Israel – important allies which share our core democratic values and security interests in the region.”
Congressional Hellenic Israel Alliance (CHIA) will celebrate its 3rd anniversary with a series of grass roots lobbying and a big event in US Congress, on February 25th.
