Washington, D.C.- On the occasion of the Celebration of Greek Independence Day on March 25th, held at the Greek Embassy in Washington, D.C., Ambassador Alexandros Mallias awarded the Certificates for ELLINOMATHIA (Knowledge of Greek) to 43 students who succeeded in their exams.
The institution of the Certificate of attainment in Greek was established by the Greek Ministry of Education in co-operation with the Centre for the Greek Language in an effort to promote the dissemination of the Greek language abroad. The exams are taken at 4 levels and the Certificates for ELLINOMATHIA are awarded each year.
The Education Office of the Greek Embassy is in charge of conducting of the exams in the wider area of Washington, D.C., as well as in Maryland and Virginia.
