Hopewell, VA.- The Steve Kolidakis Chapter #155 of the Order of AHEPA (American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association) donated $4,000 to the Hopewell-Prince George Chapter of the American Red Cross for the Katrina Hurricane Relief Fund.
Tom Owens, Secretary of the National Board of Trustees of the Order of AHEPA and serving the local chapter as a Bingo Captain, presented the check to William “Bill” Robertson, Prince George County Board of Supervisor representing the Hopewell – Prince George Chapter of the American Red Cross. Owens presented the check during the regular Saturday Evening Bingo Game since the funds were generated from bingo. The AHEPA sponsors both a Saturday and Thursday Evening Bingo Game starting a 7 PM at the AHEPA Center at 8th Avenue and Poythress Street. Both Owens and Robertson thanked the bingo players for their support which makes this and many other donations possible. The mission of the AHEPA Family is to promote Hellenism, Education, Philanthropy, Civic Responsibility, as well as Family and Individual Excellence.
The Hopewell-Prince George Chapter of the Red Cross, established in 1917, will forward the AHEPA contribution to its Washington, DC headquarters for the inclusion in the Red Cross Katrina Relief Fund.
