The American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA), donated $36,000 to St. Basil Academy, Garrison, N.Y., announced Supreme President A. Jack Georgalas. The contribution will provide new windows for the boys’ dormitory.
“We are overjoyed to make this contribution to St. Basil Academy,” said Georgalas. “We take pride in knowing that we are helping the academy fulfill its mission to the youngsters who entrust their futures in St. Basil’s.”
Chairman of AHEPA’s St. Basil Academy Committee, James A. Poll, presented Father Constantine L. Sitaras, executive director, St. Basil Academy, with the donation in October.
“Thank you for your generous donation,” said Father Sitaras. “Our children have a deep sense of pride and appreciation for the support of our AHEPA. The AHEPA family is a part of a real, vital, life transforming mission.”
The AHEPA family’s history of charitable giving to St. Basil Academy is well documented. Over $1.8 million was donated to St. Basil Academy during the 20th century for the construction of dormitories and a school building.
