New Jersey.- “Pan Gregorian Enterprises’ shows support for philanthropic causes. As Pan Gregorian grows, so has the Foundation’s ability to help needy organization,” said George Siamboulis, President of Pan Gregorian Enterprises, Inc. at their 21st Annual Charity Ball on November 13th. The social was held at The Venetian catering hall in Garfield, New Jersey. Over seven hundred persons attended. Music was played by power Station Entertainment.
The Invocation was performed by His Eminence, Metropolitan Evangelos of New Jersey. Opening remarks were delivered by Dance Chairman Andreas Kaiafas. Ms. Anthoula Katsimatides was Mistress of Ceremonies. Prominent speakers included: the Hon. Steven J. Corodemus, New Jersey State Assemblyman; the Hon. Martha Mavromatis; Consul General of Cyprus; Hon. Catherine Boura, Consul General of Greece; John E. Sakellaris, Chairman of Pan Gregorian Enterprises, Inc.; George D. Siamboulis, President of Pan Gregorian Enterprises, Inc.; and James E. Logothetis, President of P.G.E.I. of America Charitable Foundation. Mr. Louis Arvanitis, who serves as President of P.G.E.I. Foundation for ten years, was honored. Pavlos Malonoukos and Christos Stavropoulos of the Modern Greek Language and Literature Program of St. John’s University were honored for their outstanding academic excellence.
The P.G.E.I. of America Charitable Foundation was established in 1987, as the charitable organization of Pan Gregorian Enterprises, Inc. The Foundation’s charitable activities express the gratitude of the membership to their patrons and general public for supporting their diners and restaurants over the years. The P.G.E.I. Foundation has eased the suffering of children with serious diseases.
The Foundation has succeeded over the years to donate over $1,000,000 to the following organizations: W.T.C. Relief fund of Victims 9_11; Greek Children’s Fund at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center; Tomorrow’s Children’s Fund at Hackensack hospital; Cyprus Children’s Fund; Deborah Hospital- Heart and Lung Center; Ronald McDonald House; St. Basil’s Academy; Pan Epirotic Federation of America, Canada and Australia; Rutgers University; Earthquake Victims; B’nai B’rith Foundation; St. Michael’s Home for the Aged; and Other charitable Causes.
The Foundation’s contributions are raised through its Annual Charity Banquet, souvenir journal, raffles, concerts and coin boxes at Pan Gregorian’s member locations. It is only through the dedication of the Foundation’s Trustees, members, vendors and friends that have contributed to its success. The P.G.E.T. Board of Trustees for 2005 include: James E.
