The low-cost, long-haul Norwegian AirlineS announced on Friday that it will be launching a new flight directly connecting Athens to New York (JFK airport).
The service from John F. Kennedy International Airport to Athens International Airport begins July 2, 2019 and it will be summer seasonal until October 26, 2019.
The new Athens service from New York JFK will operate four times a week, with fares from $159.90 in Economy and $669.90 in Premium one way, including taxes. With Athens, Norwegian now offers 13 European nonstop destinations from the New York City area this summer.
Norwegian will also launch a direct flight from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport to Barcelona-El Prat Airport, from June 7, 2019 until October 26, 2019.
In addition, Norwegian announced that it will also be launching a series of flights connecting Athens to various cities in Scandinavia, including Oslo, Stockholm, Copenhagen and Helsinki, which will fly from March until October with prices starting at 58.57 euros for a one-way ticket, tax included.
Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura stated on the occasion: “Greece is a top holiday destination and this excellent developmental initiative by Norwegian allows even more visitors from the United States to experience the magic our country has to offer. […] We welcome [Norwegian] to Greece and expect that this new route will contribute even more to the rising tourist arrivals in our country.”

Premium Flex ticket holders can also enjoy lounge access.
