The Office of Strategic Services (O.S.S., forerunner of the CIA) formed top-secret Greek Operations Groups (OGs) from the 122nd Infantry Battalion (“Greek Battalion”) at Camp Carson, CO.

The Democratic Primaries has excited youth in an ambitious registration drive voters across the country. A renewed interest in all Democratic leaders is evident, strengthening the two party political system. During the 2008 New Hampshire Primary, Democratic leader Chris Spirou dominated the news for his dynamic support of Hillary Clinton. Nicholas Stebbins, a third generation Greek-American St. John’s University student, said he was proud “to have a Greek leader from New Hampshire, who boosts the spirits and culture of many Hellenes in the area. Mr. Spirou inspires everyone to take charge and make a difference in their community. He has not only made his heritage proud, but the great state of New Hampshire. We need to maintain the Greek heritage with the same dignity and respect as Chris Spirou,” believes Stebbins, whose Pervanas family is from Pentalofos, Macedonia.

Κωνσταντινούπολη.- Σε αποφάσεις που αλλάζουν άρδην τα μέχρι σήμερα γνωστά μεταξύ των σχέσεων Αθηνών – Φαναρίου προχώρησαν οι Αντιπροσωπείες των δύο Εκκλησιών στην Κωνσταντινούπολη, Μετά από επτά ώρες συζητήσεων, οι οποίες διεξήχθησαν σε ιδιαίτερα θετικό κλίμα, κατά τη δεύτερη μέρα της επίσημης επίσκεψης του Αρχιεπισκόπου Αθηνών και πάσης Ελλάδος Ιερωνύμου στην Κωνσταντινούπολη, εκδόθηκε το σχετικό κοινό ανακοινωθέν των δύο εκκλησιών.

Νέα Υόρκη.- Παρουσία πλέον των 1.200 ατόμων πραγματοποιήθηκε το βράδυ του Σαββάτου το 17ο ετήσιο γκαλά του Ταμείου Υποτροφιών της εφημερίδας Hellenic Times στο ξενοδοχείο Marriot Marquis στο Μανχάτταν. Τριαντατρεις νέοι, φοιτητές σε ανώτατα εκπαιδευτικά ιδρύματα της χώρας έλαβαν υποτροφίες, η συνολική αξία των οποίων ξεπέρασε τις 100,000 δολάρια.
