OCOG ATHENS 2004 held today a working meeting with representatives from EDEE, the Hellenic Association of Communication Agencies, to brief members on ambush marketing issues and other possible adverse effects of advertising on the ATHENS 2004 Sponsorship Programmes.
Present at the meeting for EDEE were members of the EDEE Media Specialists section, and for ATHENS 2004, its General Manager of Marketing and Tickets, George Bolos. Also present were representatives from the ATHENS 2004 Legal Services, Sponsorship, and Communications Departments.
Particular stress was laid on the efforts OCOG ATHENS 2004 is making to address and suppress any activities that damage directly or indirectly the Olympic and Paralympic emblems and the exclusive marketing rights of ATHENS 2004 Official Partners. ATHENS 2004 representatives also gave details on the special measures to be enforced for television and outdoor advertising.
Both sides agreed that the meeting was the start of a systematic communication and exchange of views in the hope of ensuring favourable conditions for business growth in Greece throughout the Olympic year 2004.
