Federation of Sterea Hellas Elects New Leadership

New York.- The Federation of Sterea Hellas USA and Canada at its convention in New York City the weekend of October 8, 2005 elected a new executive board. The newly elected officers of the federation are: President George Reganis from Bloomfield Hills, MI, and 1st Vice President Bill Kotsalos from Harrisburg, PA they were both elected for a second term, Maria Kalas from New York was elected 2nd Vice president. Vickie Douzos from Cleveland, OH. was elected for a second term as Secretary and Katerina Velios from Chicago, IL, is the new Treasurer. Anna Kioutas remains the legal advisor.

The Federation and its 42 chapters throughout North America are striving to preserve and defend their identity as worthy descendants of such a great heritage, and pass on to their offspring’s their own ethical and behavioral noble values. Education, ethics, family values, Greek language, devotion to the Greek Orthodox faith and better understanding of Sterea Hellas and its rich History and culture.


We are grateful to our parents and Grand Parents who worked so hard to transfer these noble values to the Hellenic community here in America.


The organization and its chapters appeals to all ages with cultural, social and charitable events, supports all national Hellenic issues, offers annual scholarships and financially support worthy causes such as university chairs for Modern Greek Studies, Summer studies in Greece, Greek schools, cultural lectures, Greek parades and other philanthropic causes.


The winners of this years scholarships were three young ladies from the New York metropolitan area they are:


Elaine M. Chugranis, Alexandra Theodoropoulos and Alexandra Kotronis
